For this task we were asked to write two user scenarios based on our user personas, one being a novice and one an expert in technology use. We were also asked to create a moodboard of both of our personas.
Novice
Sarah Parker is year six elementary school student. She is a lover of the sea and enjoys participating in campaigns to help and protect it, such as Clean Up Australia Day. She dislikes the current situation of marine plastic pollution and is always on the look out for more information and ways to help the problem from worsening. She stumbles across an game in which it teaches the right and wrongs of marine pollution in the household. She is intrigued as she find she learns better visually than verbally. However, she is considered a novice when it comes to playing games and therefore she is unable to play the game and is unable to get the most out of the experience. Although, she is motivated and ambitious and may be able to learn how to play over time.
Expert
Eric Young is a year three elementary school student. He is very passionate about the sea and it’s marine life as he lives near the ocean. Recently his class has been learning about the sea, and he is very eager to learn about it and so after class hours he is found researching and telling others about it. Although he finds that he doesn’t study well and absorb the information if it is shown to him verbally or logically and finds he needs to be taught visually. He stumbles across a game about the right and wrongs of marine plastic pollution in the household and is very excited to play as he is great at games. He finds this to be a very informative and entertainng way of learning new facts.
